Career Centre

Have you ever wanted to spend the summer attending some of the UK’s best festivals? You can gain access to your favourite festivals by volunteering or working events by applying for jobs with festivals and event companies. Whilst you are browsing Fest Intentions for your favourite festivals, check out some of the latest jobs which are available at the same time, that way you can work out what festivals you want to attend. We’ve teamed up with one of the UK’s best event agencies to bring you a comprehensive set of festival jobs and valuable information when applying for positions, to give you a better opportunity in getting them.

Paid festival roles with event companies

Staff roles are harder to come by unless you have previous experience, which you can prove to an agency or festival team. Once those positions are available, companies will feature current staff roles across the industry and within this career centre. When recruiting festival staff, companies generally look for relevant festival or event experience. This does not necessarily need to have been with them, however if you have volunteered with companies, this will help with your application. Companies usually start the festival staff recruitment process for the year, around a month after recruiting volunteers. Shortlisted candidates will need to be available for interview at short notice as the timeframes can be tight, and sometimes these can be conducted over the phone as well as face to face.

Volunteering at festivals.

Volunteering is the best way to gain experience in the festival and events industry. It also allows you to gain valuable skills to add to your CV, network and grow your industry contacts, and see if working at festivals works for you. Festival organisers are always glad to have volunteers who are hungry to learn and get involved each season. They do however receive hundreds of applications each year for a limited number of festival jobs they have available, so you have to make sure you stand out from the crowd. That said, a lot of festival volunteers who enjoy working festivals, end up progressing into bigger staff positions once they have gained their experience. Some typical festival jobs include: Festival Site Managers Festival Project Managers Festival Staff Supervisors Festival Arena Supervisors Festival Campsite Zone Supervisors Festival Office Managers Festival Multi-Agency Communications Control Staff Festival Buggy Drivers Festival 4x4 Drivers Festival Minibus Drivers
